Pre-Op

We go tomorrow morning to Choc for Jack's pre-op appointment. We will be signing all of the surgery consents and getting surgery day instructions. I'll write again tomorrow and let everyone know how it went.
Tonight I had a really nice conversation with Peyton at bedtime. She has been drawing the most amazing pictures for us lately. Today she made a "family card" and one side was for mom with a puppy and a picture of me and the other side was for dad with a robot (complete with dust from his rocket boots) and a picture of Bryan.
When I was tucking her into bed I complimented her drawing abilities and let her know that she should always find a way to be creative... Even if she grows up to be a doctor. This led to how great Jacky's doctors are and how lucky we are. She asked if Jack will receive one of Jessie's Joy Jars while he is at Choc and I explained that I thought that they were only for kids with cancer. Of course she asked what cancer was... Sometimes I am surprised how clear she understands things and how she always asks great questions.
We have decided to have her as involved as we can in Jack's treatment and to be transparent with her. (A nice message from a great friend who once went through surgery for a sick baby reinforced this for us).
Thank you to everyone who has left kind comments, messages, sent texts and mailed cards to Bryan and I since we created this blog. It is extremely comforting to know that we have so many amazing people in our lives supporting us during this time. Love you all.
